COP Summer Meeting 2013The COP Summer Meeting was held May 14-16, 2013 at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to the board business meeting, the meeting provided an opportunity to hear updates on the current research projects, meet with researchers, and network with other organizations working to improve operator performance.

The Summer Meeting included presentations on the following research projects:

  • Data to Information Handbook for Graphic Display Design,
  • COP Winter Meeting 2013
  • Method for Identifying Graphic Display Content,
  • Event Prediction and Mitigation,
  • Assessment of Training Practices in Process Control, and
  • Presentation of Intelligent Process Control Information on Mobile Devices.

COP members can access the Summer Meeting Minutes and Presentation Files in the Members-Only Site.

The COP Winter Meeting will be November 19-21, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. For more information or to register, contact Lisa Via.

  • October 12th COP Board Representatives Dave Strobhar and Mark Nixon participated in the Meet The Expert session, Human Centered Design Principles for Optimal Operator Performance, as part of the Emerson Exchange conference in Anaheim, California.

  • September 25th Dave Strobhar lead the Improving Operator Performance session at ISA Automation Week. Three papers were part of the session: "Console Operator Staffing, Workload, and Automation"; "Operator Performance: How Does One Assess?"; and "Display Formatting Guidelines for Process Industries".

  • The COP attended the ATPM 2012 Conference which was held at the Lone Star Community Building and Conference Center, The Woodlands, Texas, May 21-23. This new conference focused on applying automation and control technology in process manufacturing.

  • The COP hosted Booth #31 at ABB's Automation and Power World in Houston April 23 - 26 to help others learn more about the COP and human factors research
